50 days left

Why is time passing so fast?! This is not happening.. So anyway, I just finished two papers. One take home, and one oral exam. Rushed through the take home paper so I could study for the oral exam 'cos it was the next day and it was really one of the worst paper I've done. I just hope it'll be enough to pass..

Passed my oral exam too! Even though I didn't study as much as I would have liked.

Two more papers to go, let's hope I pass those as well! So I can have a lighter workload when I go back..

Can't wait for monday :D

54 days left

The date is set. I'm due home in less than 2 months time. Torn between wanting to go home and staying. Where did the months go to? I've been here for almost 5 months now, but thanks to the horrid weather we had, I feel like we haven't been and done so many things.

Now the weather's looking better for picnics and BBQs, I'm stuck home trying to study. But look where am I now, doing everything BUT studying. Damn.

Fervently hoping by some miracle I'll pass everything here.

UK (cont)

Ended off at London at the previous post before I headed off to Amsterdam..

Salisbury 270310

From London, we took a train down to Salisbury. Had a bit of a shock as we realized that John booked the tickets for the wrong date and we ended up paying an exorbitant amount for a one-way ticket :s buying tickets last minute is really expensive man.

So anyway, that aside, when we reached Salisbury, the sky was so gloomy and I was really hoping it wouldn't rain. We bought our tickets to go to Stonehenge, which came together with a visit to Old Sarum.

When we reached Stonehenge, my first impression of it was just.. "This is it? A couple of stones lying around..?" But thank goodness with the audioguide explaining the history behind it, Stonehenge seemed much more than 'just a couple of stones'. We spent such a long time walking around Stonehenge, and mind you, it was really a small area to cover. Being typical Asians, we took 163561356 photos which turned out pretty similar in the end.

We took a bus from Stonehenge down to Old Sarum, site of the earliest settlement of Salisbury, and the weather changed for the better. In the end, we got sidetracked and took 371637613 jumpshots before we actually reached the castle, which was in ruins by the way.

Did a collage of the three of us, John was the one who noted that Mel should be coined 'Sidekick'. Not me :p

And here's the castle, which is basically.. Nothing?

Bath 280310-290310

From Salisbury, we took a train down to Bath, where we couch-surfed for the first time! We made our way to Joe's, our host, and arrived there earlier than expected. The house was pretty cosy and the living room ,where we were to stay in, had a set of drum sets as well. Joe brought us out to town that night as Mel wanted to have Macs and he recommended a few places where we could try in town as well.

280310
I remember the weather in Bath being gloomy, typical UK weather.. Nevertheless, we trekked out to town, based on our memory on the route we took the night before. The main places we intended to go to was..

Bath Abbey

Roman Bath

The Roman Bath was really pretty cool, if only we could just take a dip in it :p they even had Roman characters walking around and they were really into their characters man.

Dinner with Joe back at his plae where he cooked us a fabulous meal! We settled down for a movie together, and I must say, he is really knowledgeable! And has really good taste in movies and music too.. :D

290310
We started off with fish&chips in town which Joe recommended, Mel and John had mushy peas (eew) which Joe insisted did not taste like peas.. But it did!! So anyway, we had a relaxing day walking around Bath and its little stores. Made our way to Royal Crescent as well.

Bath was, albeit a small town, really romantic and I really loved it. Very quaint and pretty. I remember reading somewhere that Bath is the one of the most romantic places, and I can only agree with that.

):

Been back for a few days from Amsterdam, and I'm still mourning over the loss of my camera and itouch.. Both stopped working on me within one week, and I'm seriously feeling so handicapped without it. Metro rides doesn't seem the same without my precious itouch to accompany me; bag feels too empty without my camera.

): x 100000000

Trying to see a silver lining in this, but it's not happening... Damnit.

The weather in Amsterdam sucked, it was raining basically almost everyday I was there. Together with the wind, it was seriously torture to walk around. Nevertheless, I really did enjoy myself. It wasn't my best trip (UK still ranking as 1st) but it was by far the most interesting one I had. It's the first time I travelled together with the rest of the Copenhagen gang (less Mel) as well, and I'm guessing it's going to be the last.. ):

With the Amsterdam trip over and done with, I now have a grand total of 4 (UK, Switzerland, Kiruna & Amsterdam) trips I've yet to blog about. I wonder if I will actually get down to doing it.

P.S. I am still secretly hoping I will wake up one day and realize my camera and itouch is suddenly functioning.

Day 117

Yesterday saw Mel and I getting kicked off the bus which we were supposed to take us to Sweden for a field trip. Ugh. Sweden and I are really not fated, I thought I could go Stockholm with Geri and Clement during May but they're going when I have school, and I really wanted to be good and go for all my classes during May since I'm thinking of travelling to Italy and France during June. So I really need to study in May. Yes, you saw right, study!

And I had a great day today with Nora, we went to a cafe near Kongens Nytov and I wanted to get pizza for dinner near her place. But we got distracted by the chinese buffet which I've always wanted to try, and so we decided to go in for dinner. I had sushi!! It was pretty awesome, I didn't expect myself to have sushi here :D

So I decided I shall try and blog about all my trips, starting from the most recent one, UK! I think it would be a really long post though, here's a warning! After all, I did spend close to three weeks there. Heh.

London 240310-260310

240310
I gotta say, London's one of my favourite cities ever! The first thing that struck me when I got to London, was that it reminded me a lot of Singapore. The roads for one, was so similar to what we get back home, and it's on the "right" side of the road as well! And not forgetting, everything's in English too!

Reached London Gatwick airport, and we took a bus out to Central London, Fulham Broadway. Initially, the plan was to head straight to our hostel and put our bags down. But John realised that we were really close to Chelsea stadium and so we decided to drop by it before making our way to the hostel. Amused ourselves by taking pictures outside the stadium, like this:

And after making a trip to this stadium, Mel actually became a Chelsea fan.. Can you believe it?! So anyway, after the stadium, we made our way to the hostel and followed the directions given to us by this lady working at the airport. But she actually gave us wrong directions (!) and we took really long to get to our hostel. Reached the hostel eventually, and we decided we were too tired to travel back to Central London, and ate at a restaurant near our hostel and walked around the neighbourhood.

250310
Woke up early and wanted to head to Portobello Market, but it was closed and we decided to make our way to Hyde Park and walk to Buckingham Palace. Hyde Park was pretty and I took an insane amount of pictures of ducks and swans. Yes I know, what's new. The weather was pretty horrible though, with the dark clouds looming when we made our way to Buckingham Palace. The changing of guards took place at 1130am, but we got there slightly late and missed a bit of it. We stayed until the end of it though, and managed to see the guards marching out. Nothing impressive I would say, I expected much more to be honest.

Made our way to the museums, and we got lost for a long time! Ugh. Was pretty depressing to be lost, especially when it was raining as well. Was so thankful when we finally found the Science Museum, where we could take shelter and explore as well. Daryl joined us while we were there, and our next stop was the History Museum which I thought was pretty cool. So it was pretty much a museum day for us in London. Most of the museums in London are free, which was really cool.

Met Ks in London for dinner at Four Seasons where I had glorious Chinese food! The duck was amazing, and I refuse to upload the photo for fear I'll get depressed looking at it. Dinner with Ks was awesome, and we walked around after dinner to digest our food. Ended up at Piccadilly Circus where our group left for separate ways. I still think it's pretty cool how I met Ks in London!

260310
The weather was brilliant when we left in the morning and began our touristy day! Places like Big Ben, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, Tate Modern, Tower Bridge etcetc are a must when in London! We started off from Westminister Abbey and slowly walked to Tower Bridge. It was a pretty nice walk with awesome weather, I must say.

We stopped by Borough Market which Ks recommended, and I was in heaven!! It's a food market, and everything looked amazing. Started off with curry, and continued with fish & chips, sausages, cakes, pies.. I had one of the best cakes I've ever tasted here as well- Banana Banoffee Cake! Omg. Craving for another one right now..

Continued our walk after our pitstop for food, and made our way to London Bridge and Tower Bridge. I had this strange fascination with the Tower Bridge for some reason, and I couldn't stop taking photos of it. The bridge was just spectacular for some reason, am I the only one who thinks so?

Ended off our day at Camden market, which reminded me of Bugis street back home. The stalls were selling stuff which looked suspiciously from Bangkok. It was not as cheap as I expected it to be, Mel bought a pair of sunglasses though.

Dropped by Oxford street at night, and it was so crowded! London is amazing that way, it was almost 9pm and the shops are still open! Went to Primark, where we ended up shopping until the store closed. Lol.

Alright, it's almost 3am, and I have class tomorrow! Looks like I have to blog about my trip in several days. I'm excited about my day later, minus class of course. The prof is boring like hell, thank goodness it's only two hours.

Xoxo.

Stockholm Joke

I should be in Stockholm now, eating Swedish meatballs and shopping in the biggest H&M. But no, I'm stuck in my room in Copenhagen, looking up recipes for me to cook and entertain myself instead.

Went all the way to the airport to catch our bus 832, and waited in the cold for the bus that came 5 mins late. Only to be told that our tickets were cancelled without our knowledge. The guy whom Mel emailed to enquire if she could cancel the tickets most probably misunderstood her and cancelled it for her without even telling her. I am so disappointed, was really looking forward to a Stockholm weekend getaway.

Can you imagine us with our backpacks, in disbelief, looking at each other and thinking it was such a joke. Right, this is my joke of the year. Here's your cue to laugh. Laugh.

Wednesday 21 April 2010

Sun, Snow & Rain

I had all of that, in a day!! Can you believe it? It's like almost end April, and I still feel like it's winter. I was in class when it started snowing, and I looked out in amazement, wondering if my eyes were playing tricks on me. And mind you, it was some kind of heavy snowing going on out there. When I left class an hour later, it was raining and I just wondered if I dreamed it all.

And as I write this now in my room, it is sunny! Seriously, I have no idea what's up with the weather here man.

I've decided to return back to Singapore earlier, and am so regretting it now. No time to travel to all the places I want to. Help.

Monday 19 April 2010

Day 111

Oh. My. Gosh. I have procrastinated and ended up with a really stagnant blog, which I'm very sad about.. Re-read my entries and realised it's really a good way to remember my exchange trip. And now, I have nothing but a few pathetic entries to show. Damn, I'm going to try and blog about my previous trips but there's seriously too many now. Switzerland, Kiruna, UK.. Ack.

Going for an unexpected weekend trip to Stockholm. Am secretly excited although it was only confirmed yesterday night when Mel asked me if I wanted to go. Didn't really foresee myself touring another Scandi country, but Mel booked the tickets for herself and her sister, and due to the volcano incident her sister is now still stuck in Singapore. Only the two of us on this trip, a first! Should be fun, we're probably going to stuff ourselves silly with Swedish meatballs.

Okay, I'm really going to try and blog about my trips. But first, I need to get some sleep. Financial market lecture at 8am, and it's now almost 1am. I detest 8am lessons, especially I'm not living particularly close to school... HAI :s

Day 56

Wow, I've been procrastinating and suddenly when I have the motivation to blog, it's already day 56 here. Been wanting to blog more about Berlin, but I have the nagging feeling I probably won't get around to doing it. Quite a few people I know have gone Berlin, and they came back raving about their trip. Perhaps I'm just not into the whole history thing. As superficial as it sounds, I actually enjoy pretty scenery more, such as those which I saw previously during my Czech trip. Photos from Berlin are up on facebook though, quite a while ago in fact. Berlin had the most awesome curried sausages which we ate everyday. I came back craving for them and even bugged my German classmate from Danish class to make it for us, and this reminds me, I have to get the recipe for it! It was soooo good!

So much has happened while I was away from this space.. CNY, parties, dinners, ren ri with lou hei.. Gosh. I don't even know where to start. But I've been dilligently uploading my photos on facebook, so if you really am interested (which I highly doubt so) you know where to find me!

Life here has seen me cooking more as well.. Been experimenting with recipes. Lasagna, broccoli soup, salmon with various sauces we made from scratch etc. Again, all on facebook. But for the uninitiated, here's some pictures.. Haha.

Broccoli soup from scratch

Salmon <3

Salmon again, with sauce made from scratch

Doesn't it look nice and yummy! Hollandaise sauce btw.

Lasagna with meat and spinach. Mega yum.

Haha aren't you guys mega proud of me? Lol.

Oh, and as mentioned before, I'm going on an adventure to see the northern lights! Please cross your fingers and toes for me okay. We're paying quite a lot, and braving the cold, and we're not even guaranteed a view of it. So yes, please pray that we would see it! It's really something which I hope to see.

Going to switzerland this friday as well.. We were really super last minute in our planning. Thank goodness for Vernon who's staying in Bern who's willing to host us for so many days. If you ever read this, I owe you one buddy!

So here's my travel plans..

Switzerland: 26th Feb - 10th Mar
Kiruna: 12th-16th Mar

Plans for easter break are also in the midst of planning, going to UK! Am thinking of extending my stay in London so I get to see Ks. But that means I have to stay alone for a night in London.. Ugh. We'll see.

Need to get back to planning for Switzerland now!! By the time I get back to this space it'll probably be after Kiruna.. Miss me!

Day 42

Back from Berlin! Got to say I preferred my trip to Czech over this trip though, probably because I'm not that much of a history buff. There was so much history behind Berlin, with the wall and all, and the trip has definitely helped me understand more about the history behind the city and country. I'm in the midst of uploading my photos from my camera to my laptop, so updates from Berlin has got to wait.

I actually went to Berlin without doing much research, have to thank John and Mel for the planning and all. I promise to research the next travel trip okay! Don't have any solid plans for upcoming trips, might go see Northern Lights with Mel and her friend later this month. It's probably going to be super cold, but if we're able to see Northern Lights it's definitely worth it.

Nothing much to update, here's a photo I took while I was on my way to school. Beautiful skies like these, I love.

People, please skype me! Or write me a letter. Or even better, send me a parcel with CNY goodies! Haha. Okay, ignore me. I'm sort of in a pensive mood now and everything I'm writing doesn't seem to make much sense. Having too much on my mind right now.

Off I go!

Friday 5 February 2010

First Follower

Hahaha so I have gotten myself a first follower on my blog! Lol. And in return, I've gotten myself a tagboard (since my first follower was complaining about nowhere to comment) with help from Kevin and Gh.. So do drop me a message when you pop by.. This goes out to everyone! I wonder who is reading this though. Haha.

Xoxo.

Day 35

I love my thursdays! It marks the start of my weekend... ;) hehe. Thursdays lessons are really awesome as well. Really enjoyed the lecture on Economics of Ageing.. it's probably the only lecture I didn't fall asleep in the whole week.. :s and Danish Culture Course later in the afternoon with some of my classmates from Danish class. Yay!

So last night a couple of us went to the White Room Lounge, one of the parties in the Student Insomnia Tour. We took forever to get to the club.. And poor Allison had to spend the first half an hour of the 21st birthday with us, wandering the streets of Copenhagen and freezing in the cold. But we got there eventually and it proved to an awesome night. Met a couple of new people, alcohol gives you the high to talk to people you wouldn't normally. Haha. We were sober enough to know you don't follow strangers back to their cars, so we had to try and figure out our way to get to the Metro station to get to Forum to get our keys. Thank goodness for a kind-hearted soul who brought us all the way to Norreport.. I hope he got back home alright. Haha. I have a feeling I'm not making much sense to many here.. Oh wells.

Anyway, Allison's birthday party later tonight! Together with the Signalhuset party which I'm so going to pop by, for reasons only the girls would know. Heh. Can't get too wasted though, have a flight to catch to Berlin tomorrow!

That's all for now, will be back from Berlin on tuesday! Till then! <3

Wednesday 3 February 2010

Day 34

Back from Economic Growth lecture.. Fell asleep halfway :s it sounds all too abstract! Hope Economics of Ageing would be better tmr albeit the fact it's at 8am. Sheesh. Have to sleep early tonight, wanted to go Studenthouse for the party but I have to make it for the lesson tmr so... :( sigh.

Anyway, have to blog about Czech as promised cos I'll be flying off to Berlin this coming sat and I'm pretty sure by the time I'm back I wouldn't blog about it anymore!

Czech 270110-010210

270110
We were pretty worried that our flight would be cancelled due to the snowing, but instead we waited about an hour or so in the plane before it actually took off. Got worried about missing our bus to Český Krumlov, but the plane touched down on time. Managed to find our way to the bus terminal with Mel's awesome directions and even had one hour to kill before boarding the bus!

When we finally reached Český Krumlov, we ate sandwiches in the petrol kiosk where I bought my favourite twister ice cream!

I've been eating it everywhere I go around btw.. Somehow I just can't find them in Singapore anymore!! The rest thinks I'm insane cos I keep eating it despite the fact it's winter.

Made our way to Hostel Skippy and I'm very proud of ourselves.. Managed to find our way there! Our room was very nice and comfy, very homely! The owner was also super helpful and recommended lots of nice restaurants for us to eat at. Seeing we were Chinese, she recommended us this Chinese restaurant where she claimed the duck was fantastic. The restaurant was closed by the time we got there though.. So we made our way to the bar which was very near our hostel.

Taken with my very awesome camera which is very good for zipai-ing. LOL.

The language barrier was super bad though. We tried to ask the bartender what the drinks were, but he just couldn't understand us. So we just went with the safest and got beer. It was really cheap though, paid about $2+? Went back after the drinks to rest and have a rough plan for the next day's itinerary.

281001
Was in a bit of a fluster in the morning cos we realised we booked the bus to České Budějovice for the wrong day. But all turned out good cos we managed to cancel our bookings in time. Made our way to find ourselves a good breakfast place recommended by Skippy the night before.

Really liked the decor of the restaurant, with all the b&w photographs.

Omg please spot the awesome honey! It was so good!

Breakfast Set A which I ordered (:

Made our way to the castle after, the walk there was very pleasant with the sky clearing up. I thought the town was beautiful and had this fairy-tale beauty to it. Took so many pictures while walking to the castle cos everything was just spectacular to me. We kept popping into the stores and a short 10 mins walk to the castle probably extended to almost 30 mins? Lol.

Finally reached the castle! Again, taken with my awesome camera. Lol.

The disappointment set in when we realised that castle was closed until 31st March, which was a real pity! Shall make it a point to travel back here when it's summer, should be even prettier!

But we had fun trekking up the castle, taking photographs of the amazing view we had and eventually taking lots of photos where we played in the snow. Think snowball fights, snow angels and jumpshots! That took up quite a bit of our time.. Lol. We got hungry and made our way back down for lunch. Btw, I swear I ate so much in Český Krumlov, felt like I put on 2kg or something. But everything looked so good, and not to mention so much cheaper than Copenhagen!! We realised the pictures we took Český Krumlov were mostly of food.. Haha.

We actually had two dinners..! First one was at this place which Skippy (again) recommended. Apparently it has been there since 200 years ago or something? Okay, might be wrong on this. But the food was really amazing!

They cook the food in front of you!

One of the best pork chops I've ever eaten!

Felt so full after.. But we still made our way to the Chinese restaurant after we walked around a bit to digest our food. I'm too lazy to post up the pictures of what we had. We were such carnivores that day! Ordered duck, curry chicken and sweet&sour park! And we each had a favourite dish! Poor Nora had to bear with us while we enjoyed our Chinese food.. Can't believe we ate so much that day. Gosh.

So that's Český Krumlov for you, here's a promise to myself where I shall go back in summer. But don't get me wrong, I love Český Krumlov in winter as well!

290110
Took a bus down to České Budějovice, was rushing to catch our bus cos we were a little behind schedule. The weather was really good though, didn't feel cold at all. Or at least while we were in Český Krumlov. It was a different story altogether when we went České Budějovice though. Lol.

Had a little adventure trying to figure out how to get to the Hluboka castle. Took a picture of the castle which was inspired by this postcard I saw in Český Krumlov.

John and I were so determined to get a proper picture! I actually kneeled down to try and take a picture of this. Haha. Poor Mel and Nora got so bored waiting for us they decided to build a snowman. Haha.

There wasn't much in České Budějovice though, took the bus back to Prague after we had our lunch. České Budějovice couldn't compare up to Český Krumlov at all in terms of the scenary and all though. But still, good for a day trip! (:

Reached Prague in the night, and tried to find our hostel, Plus Prague. The directions given to us were totally wrong though. Thank goodness we found someone who could speak English and pointed us in the right direction! Finally got to our hostel, which was kind of far away from the station we alighted at, but I have to admit the hostel was very clean and the rooms were cosy as well. A completely different feel from Hostel Skippy's though. But there was free breakfast and a pool table just for Mel! Haha.

300110
Made our way to the town area for sightseeing. Our resolution of the day was "don't get lost!" Lol. I think we should be proud of ourselves cos I think we acheived it! Well, more or less.. Heh.

So we made our way to the Municpal House, which was our first stop of the day. Made our way to Old Town Square where the Astronomical Clock, Church of Our Lady before the Tyn and the Old Town City Hall Tower was located.

Astronomical Clock was really overrated though, at every hour there would be a "show" which lasts for all but (probably) one minute.. Okay, but of course the history behind was so much more interesting. Not that I knew how to read the clock exactly though.. Lol.

We decided to climb the tower up the Old Town City Hall Tower. Amazing view I must say. We paid for a tour around the place which started at 1pm, so we had lots of time where we spent it at the tower. Thank goodness for the clear skies, photos turned out pretty good. John used his camera to take quite a few awesome shots, which I'm waiting to get from him! Heh.

Here's some from my camera..

So after spending a long time around the Old Town Square area, we made our way to Charles Bridge. Again, I'm so proud of ourselves for successfully finding our way there! Haha.

Had to rush through Charles Bridge cos we wanted to get to the castle which closes pretty early. But we didn't know the walk to the castle was so far away! By the time we got there, the castle was closed for the day. So we had to return the next day.. Walked around the area and okay.. We kind of got lost at some point in time. But since we already had no plans for the day, it was okay just walking around aimlessy and taking photos. We stumbled upon this place where there was an amazing view of the city as well.

Sometimes getting lost might just be the best way to explore the place.. Of course getting lost when you're trying to find a place is never a good thing. We managed to find our way back to town and found a Chinese fast food place, where I had sweet and sour pork again! Which was really good!

Okay, so after dinner we wanted to make our way back to the hostel to defrost ourselves cos it was getting really cold and maybe head out to find a bar to chill and all.. That was when we encountered some really bad luck. We bumped into the train inspectors and got fined for not buying the train tickets. We actually bought tickets earlier in the morning to use at night but we forgot to validate it when we boarded the train. Ugh. Well, lesson learned. Never again! We always have such bad luck with these stupid inspectors. Some of you might know about the fine I got in Copenhagen before, but that was another stupid mistake we made.. Gah.

So the night ended on quite a bad note, went back and instead of going out, we just stayed in the hostel and had an early night.

310110
Set off early in the morning to get to Prague Castle.. We were actually a little behind schedule cos we reached the castle kind of late. Spent quite a long time at the castle too, which came as quite a shock cos we actually had quite a lot of other places we wanted to go to.

St. Vitus Cathedral was really quite spectacular to us, but Nora said it was quite common in Mexico :o but to us it was really quite grand, filled with rich decorations, which is apparently what it's known for. We also explored the castle grounds, such as St. George Basilica and the Golden Lane.

After we were done with the castle, we walked down to find lunch. Passed by this lake where we could see the charles bridge and it was really such a pretty place! The lake had lots of ducks and two swans, I took so many pictures of them! I would probably have taken more if Mel and Nora didn't pull us away. Lol.

By the time we finished our lunch it was almost 4pm.. The plan was to go visit the Jewish Cemetary which was one of the places we wanted to visit. But while crossing Charles Bridge to get there, we kind of got distracted and started taking loads of photos and did a lot of stupid poses with the statues. Lol. I don't have the pictures with me, John has them on his camera as well. You will only probably do these things when you're overseas.. Haha. Got lots of amused stares from the passer-bys. Good fun. Haha. Charles Bridge is indeed prettier when the sun is setting..

We eventually got to the Jewish Cemetary but it was closed by the time we got there. Randomly explored the place but it was really just a touch-and-go thing.. Didn't get to see much which was quite a pity. Come to think of it, we really didn't get to see a lot of things we planned for.

010210
Had an afternoon flight back to Copenhagen.. Checked out of the hostel in the morning and took a bus down to Andel where we shopped around for a bit. Even Mel bought some clothes back! Which is something quite amazing.. Haha.

Well, so that's my Czech adventure for you. This post took forever to type! Gosh. Feels like I'm typing some term paper or something.. Haha. In the midst of uploading the photos to facebook, so if you're interested you can go take a look. Word of warning though, there's quite a few photos :p

Off I go.. Xoxo <3

Tuesday 2 February 2010

Day 33

Went for my first lecture in the City Campus today. Started to zone out after like 30 minutes cos the prof was mainly talking about the course outline and all. Advanced IO sounds quite hard, being a Masters course and all. Sigh. But the prof is definitely much better than Ernie.. So hopefully I'll be able to follow the classes?

Textbooks are so expensive here! And I thought it was bad enough back in Singapore.. Hopefully I'll be able to ask around and see if there are cheaper alternatives. Taking 5 modules here, if I bought textbooks for all I'll be so broke!!

So anyway, the weather today was insane. It wasn't cold, but the onslaught of snow (ice?) was so painful when it hits my face. Although Morten warned me about the blizzard yesterday, I didn't think it would be so bad? If it wasn't for school I would just stay home all day and keep warm.

Headed over to Nora's and John's for dinner after and here's a picture Mel took of the snow/ice.

It probably looks pretty to some of you, but trust me, it's not! Well, to me at least. I prefer the snow I had in Czech where you get to see nice pretty snowflakes. These are just plain annoying.

Alright, off I go to bed. Have a morning lesson tmr!

P.S. Uploaded the Czech photos to my laptop already. Shall blog and upload them onto fb tmr or smth!

Monday 1 February 2010

Day 32..?

Or at least I think so? Not sure how many days it has been, but it has already been a month since I've got here. Got back from Prague in the afternoon and I'm pretty tired right now, wanted to get an early night but Morten had a friend over and I ended up talking to both of them for a while. Should be heading to bed after I finish this entry..

School officially starts tomorrow! Have no idea what to expect.. I actually am going to take Advanced Ind Org to clear as Game Theory. Bet I'm so going to regret doing this! But the timetable is seriously pissing me off big time. Most of the modules I want to take clashes with one another and I guess I don't really have a choice. Sigh. So much for swearing off Ind Org. This time I have no Darius to help me!! Lol.

The website looks really dull with the lack of photos and all, but I'm too tired to upload all the photos we took and decide which ones to post on fb. There are just too many! But the rest took so much more than me though. Especially Mel.. She has like 3000+. Insane much?? I probably took about 800+ which I thought was quite a lot? I'll be back soon with pretty pictures from Prague soon! Promise (:

Heard that there's going to be an insane blizzard tomorrow.. Wish there was no school so I can just laze around all day in my nice warm room.

Alright, off I go. I really need to sleep. Today's actually the start of the 7 straight nights of partying at the various clubs for international students but I'm not feeling all hyped up for it. Refuse to deal with the wind tonight. Maybe tomorrow.. We'll see.

Xoxo.

Day 26

Wanted to talk more about the time I've been here so far, but it looks like I won't be able to do that until I get back from Prague.. Yes, going to Prague tomorrow! Was doing some research about it after we got back from Chinatown where we happily spent almost 40 SGD :s

So here's two photos of my dinner! Chicken soup with veg...! :D it was really good! Though it was a little too much for the two of us.

Need to go and pack for Prague now! Hope everything goes smoothly and I'll be sure to blog about it when I'm back! (:

P.S. I passed my Danish exam!!

Day 24

Day 24 sees me (finally) setting up a blog to remember the 6 months I'm here.. Has it really only been 24 days? It feels so much longer.. Well more talk about my days thus far another day.

Danish oral exam tomorrow, let's hope I'll pass it!
